Hoopsisters

We have combined forces with Hoopsisters.com to offer their unique Embroidablock of the Month program. The quilt for 2010 is entitled “TNT, Textures and New Techniques” and is absolutely exquisite. Their technique of combining embroidery with piecing and quilting is extraordinary. We will be meeting once a month for 10 months. The first nine months you will be stitching four blocks each month. The tenth month we will teach you Hoopsisters’ unique joining technique. Come be a part of this cutting edge quilting technique. If you have an embroidery machine and want to find more uses for it, this is the class for you. If you are not a quilter but would like to be, this is the class for you. If you are a quilter and you think an embroidery machine is nice but not necessary, think again.

By the time you are done with this class, you will know your embroidery machine inside and out. The designs come in two sizes - 8” and 5” so this class is not limited to machines with jumbo hoops. I will demo each block in class. You may bring your machine to stitch out a block during class if you wish.

Bernina Stitch Regulator

Did you know that as fabric is moved under the Bernina Stitch Regulator, the optical sensor of the BSR adjusts the motor speed of your machine and the up and down motion of the needle to compensate for the type of fabric you are working with.

Just one of the many accessories available for your machine, the #7 Tailor Tack Foot is designed to eliminate the tedious job of marking garment pieces with hand tailor tacks. This foot offers a way to stitch thread loops on fabric for marking seam lines, darts and notches. A sample of the techniques this Foot can do are: Fagsling, Fringe, Chenille Appliqué, Embellishing Appliqués, and even sewing on large buttons.
